January's Case of the Month
Why not take a look at our January mixed case, undoubtedly the perfect remedy for those January blues!
Whites (2 of each)
BODEGAS TAJINASTE, LISTAN BIANCO, Canary Isles - 2017
Listan Blanco (aka Palomino). A good expression of Tenerife whites from this grape. Floral nose, herbal, hints of toasted almond, lovely ripe fruit but good acidity and minerality from the volcanic soils.
BODEGA MIRAS, PATAGONIA SEMILLON, Patagonia - 2017
100% Semillon. Very fresh, fruity nose of lemon, peach, of membrillo. Good varietal character, waxy, lemony, super fresh.
DOMAINE BRUNO LUPIN, FRANGY, Savoie - 2017
100% Altesse. The flavours are reminiscent of pear, gingerbread, spice and honey with a touch of nougat and the mouthfeel is soft, mellow and off dry. This would be splendid with river fish such as pike or perch, or veal escalope, or even the local Beaufort cheese.
Reds (2 of each)
COMANDO G, LA BRUZA DE ROZAS, Madrid - 2017
100% Garnacha. Compact, gaining in precision, depth and complexity, with a mixture of violets, red berries, balsamic herbs and a spicy touch. The palate is medium-bodied, with very good balance, very fine tannins and a fine thread of acidity providing backbone to the wine.
AA DI TUCCIO RAFFAELE, ANTICA ENOTRIA, Puglia - 2017
Montepulciano, Nero di Troia and Sangiovese. Deep ruby red colour and violet nuances with a characteristic bouquet of cherries and forest berries. On the palate this wine is soft, dry, with nice tannins and good freshness.
PHEASANT’S TEARS, SAPERAVI, Kakheti - 2017
100% Saperavi. Punchy deep cassis with bright acidity and taut tannins.
