February's Case of the Month

With dry January now (we hope) a distant memory and 15% off our mixed case, why not take a look at our February case of the month.

Whites (2 of each)

JUMPIN JUICE, GEE-DUB, Southern Margaret River  - 2018
100% Semillon.  Australian Muscadet! Pure, crisp and raw. Packed full of citrus, with white peach and lemon zest on the nose. Pear and apricot follow on the palate, a wine with texture and a nervy edge.

POPULIS, WABI-SABI WHITE, Mendocino County - 2017
40% Chardonnay, 40% Sauvignon, 20% Colombard.  A Cheverny-inspired blend, the mouthfeel is characterized by laser-like acidity, while the aromas and flavours strike a balance between greenness and riper opulence, resulting in a style that is uniquely Californian, yet with an old-world approach. The old-vines give this wine an additional dimension of depth and complexity. The minimalistic approach in the cellar lends a wine that is highly drinkable and digestible.

100% Aligote.  A light golden colour, with brilliant green highlights. On the nose it reveals fine notes of hawthorn, Williams pear and hazelnut. The palate has aromas of small white flowers and spices.

Reds (2 of each)

VINO DI ANNA, PALMENTINO, Mount Etna - 2016
95% Nerello Mascalese, 5% Field Blend.  Vibrant crimson in colour, with attractive dark cherry and strawberry aromas. It is medium in body, has good acidity and fine dusty tannins.

ADEGA CACHIN, PEZA DO REI, Ribeira Sacra - 2017
100% Mencía.  Medium-bodied, sappy, mineral red, crunchy red fruits (redcurrant/cranberry) with refreshing acidity. Unoaked. This wine carries all the aromatic lift of the vineyards whence it comes.

APHROS, VINHÃO, Vinho Verde - 2017
100% Vinhão.  A deep, dark red colour with a violet rim. The wine has a vivid nose and palate with flavours of sour cherry and wild berry fruits. Showing a creamy softness and mature tannins, without losing the brilliant acidity with its backbone of granite minerality.
